Wind power Class 2 areas are readily available for power generation. An average of 4.9 - 5.2 m/s at a height of 80m is projected.

Solar irradiance in Lander County is in a range projected to be between 4.31 and 5.25 kWh/m2 per day. In addition, there is an average of 138 clear and 89 partly cloudy days in Lander County.

Geothermal resources have been identified in north and south Lander County. Hot heat (>100¼C) and warm water heat flow wells are in the immediate vicinity of the Battle Mountain Airport, Union Pacific Railroad line and Interstate 80.

Other geothermal opportunities are located in Buffalo Valley, Grass Valley, Smith Creek and the Reese River Valley. Beowawe, an existing geothermal plant operates on the Lander/Euerka county border.
